Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan visited Shusha
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have visited the city of Shusha.
The heads of state viewed the monuments to prominent personalities of Azerbaijan such as Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibayli, which were shot by Armenians in Shusha during the occupation.
At the initiative of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the monuments were bought from Armenians and brought to Azerbaijan to keep at the Museum of Art in Baku. They were placed back at their original place under President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions after the liberation of Shusha.
Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov briefed President Ilham Aliyev and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the master plan of the city of Shusha.
The heads of state visited the Natavan Spring and viewed the “Heydar Aliyev and Garabagh” exhibition at the Creative Center restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Alakbarov informed the heads of state of the Center and the exhibition.
The Creative Center is an architectural monument of national importance. It was restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and opened on May 10 this year.
The “Heydar Aliyev and Garabagh” exhibition features rare photos, documents, and video materials reflecting the services of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev towards the social, economic, political, and cultural development in Karabakh. The exhibition also includes photos from the National Leader’s visits to Karabakh as well as his meetings and various events held here.
The presidents then made a tour of the Saatli Mosque. The Saatli Mosque was built in 1883 based on the project by Karbalayi Safikhan Garabaghi. The Mosque was ruined by Armenians during the years of occupation. The Mosque, whose renovation work began in December 2021 with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s funding, was inaugurated last May.
The heads of state then visited the House-Museum of Bulbul.
Polad Bulbuloglu briefed the presidents on the House-Museum. After the liberation of Shusha from the occupation, restoration works were also carried out in the House-Museum of Bulbul, and the museum opened on August 29, 2021.
The presidents also visited the Jidir Duzu plain, one of the symbols of Shusha.
The presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan also toured the Yasaman Hotel consisting of three residential buildings built in the style of the Karabakh architectural school of the mid-19th century.
